Do the numbers right below where it says B18A1 are supposed to match the vin number?

JDM motors dont have the numbers at the end. For example, B16A, B16B, B18C etc....

^^^^^^lol thats classic.....but Gatsby is right. So if you have a b18a1 then you don't have a JDM engine

actually what I meant is How can u tell that the motor has been replaced period. Even if it is a USDM motor. Are the numbers below the engine code suppose to match the VIN. for example........
B18A1
800970

is the 800970 suppose to match the VIN?

isn't the number on the engine a production code, much like the VIN. But i am pretty sure that those numbers aren't supposed to match. Each number in the VIN means something....i.e. where it was made, model of the car....etc etc.

there is a vin number plate on the back of the block, near the oil filter.. that should match the vin of the car... also there is a vin plate on the transmision taht is visible from the front of the engine bay, that should also match the vin of the car
