How can i best tune up a 95 cx
Some of you may have heard that my girlfriend HEATHER HASTINGS has smashed up her car and I am hoping to repair it this week
the accident was a front end collision and every thing from teh bumper to the exhaust amifold was damaged
the main parts that were broken seem to be the steering pump, the radiator and the air box (hooray a reason for a true cai instead of a short ram) and some of the meatal was bent out of place
what is the best way (other than using intake and exhaust) to tune this engine?...is there a chip that helps in any way at all.
the car is an auto so i am not looking to make it a drag machine or anything but i am hoping that witha a few minor mods and reapirs i can not only make this car look a bit better but actually increase the performance of it as well....
I am planing on using a full size rad to better cool the engine (stock is only half size for some reason and the other side has a wussie plastic shield) is this wise? will is help as i think it will or do any of you know a reason that i shouldn't do this?
Also what are my options for intakes and how helpful is it to route the filter throught the stock hole for the air box?..is a short ram just as good on a dyno? i know that both are goign to help free up the air consumption "(i am going to pollish and clean out the throttle body too) but is a heat shielded shorft ram oging to work as well as a true cold air intake?
Also what is the IDEAL pipe size for the cx engine i have been tolds that the stock exhaust is efficent right to the axel back at which point the stock muffler is restrictive. Of course header would be benificial but i due to the price (unless i can find a good set of used 4-2-1's or 4-1's) they seem like a future mod because alot of cash will be goign into the reconstruction of the front end and the cosmetics (not to be a ricer or any thing but replacing broken stuff has to come before performance mods)
Thanks for you help in advance. I will be posting pictures of this project starting tomorrow and hope you guys can give me good ideas as I go....
Can an accident be a blessing?

one thing i might segest is to leave the power steering pump off i took mine off when i hade my civic and i noticed a incress in power
and as long as the car is in motion there is no problem with turning
those are my 2 cents

i love that idea and was thinking about it myself but due to the driver being a girl and all i think power steering is a big thing....however in my own car i would agree compleately....
if the powere steering pump was to be removed though how would i compensate for the belt?...wouldn't it be loose with out the pump there to wrap around?...
or are you saying that i could leave it there and run it empty...
in one of my old cars i had run it with no fluid to disable power sttering but was told that significant gain could be found by removing the pump all togther and possibly replacing t with a belt tentioner of some sort....
