hood damage

Hey,

I was just driving on the 401, doing about 140, and my hood ripped off, scared the hell outta me, luckily one hinge kept it attached to my car.

Can anyone suggest where i can get a new hood and driver side mirror? maybe I'll go to the junkyard tomorrow. there is damgae to the hood on the corner that held it on, its all mangled.....
I think the pin that was holding it on rusted and broke

thanks for any suggestions

Well, if you had been going slower, you might still have a hood now.

It was because I was speeding and I suspect that the pin holding it on the passenger side broke because of rust..... it just was like BAM out of nowhere, gave me a heart attack It instantly slammed against my driver side door, taking out my mirror and being held on by the driver side pin, thankfully it didnt fly off and cause an accident ~ I'll post a pick later, The junkyard on sewells has a hood for 200 bucks, and a mirror for 150 damn.....

I've had that happen before... my bro and I were painting our old Oldsmobile, we did all the body work on it, and the painter FUCKED up the color... it was BABY BLUE anyways, we just wanted to get it home so we drove it straight from the body shop - well, the hood latch wasn't even there!! The hood smashed the windshield and was bent to isht. A few hundred bux later, it was good as new.

YOu can get an aftermarket one from www.crosscanadaparts.com

$194.51 -- HOOD CIVIC CPE/H-BACK 92-95 .

Not sure the quality - but it's alot less $386.00 for OEM
