Question HKS Hipermax II suspension

Anyone knows anything about such suspension? From what I know, it has 20 ~ 30 way adjustability, chromoly body... etc etc.

Has anyone used one of these?

Seems like there aren't many reviews on HKS suspensions. I've checked, and mostly are for Skylines...

From what i have heard they are amazing, there was a jdm importer who had a set for like $1850 or something like that used for our EK's.

You know that place Chris? That's where I got the info from as well. Apparently, the Hipermax II for EK is around 1800 USD new, and Hipermax II Version 1 is around 2700 USD new. So I assume their set is the Version 1.

I am gonna go take a look at that set.

So that particular suspension is geared towards track use and has its quality right?

Do you know anything on such product? Please enlighten me, thanks.

I have a friend have this on his SW20, 30 way adjustable, a little stiff but great for track use.
but best quality for the price I would say koni, bilstein or H&R.

its JDMp i believe is the place, where i was looking for coilovers I came across them and if i had the money i would definitely get them but I dont have em. If you want a really tight, stiff ride that would probably be the kit for you.

I thought I heard that HKS suspensions are made by Bilstein. Seems like it is a very nice quality suspension set up.

Thx Aaron. Funny thing is their own website don't have the Version 1 suspension info.

What a price difference...

The only place I can find is from that link I posted, but doesn't say much except the price. I think the spring rates are rather soft for the II, F8/R5 but I suppose it can be compensated with different settings.

You know much about HKS suspensions?

Japanese parts in general yes...

I think that it is old inventory they are selling..

It doesn't appear in any other current HKS literature..

I looked at the 9+ versions and it wasn't listed..

Its mucho money regardless.

I wouldn't buy those for a car that was going to see snow and salt personally..

Lemme look around and see if I can find any version 1 info..

My Hyper-Rev's are in the garage and I'm not going outside..

I will add to this tommorrow.

Ya I will not buy those brand new, just no way. Used maybe and I also need to check them out in person which is why I wonder if they are worth the money to buy them 2nd hand. I mean some things are ok for 2nd hand, some aren't.

I plan on swap out the suspensions in the winter time when I put on my snow tires. That goes for any brand of coilovers. I just found out that my rear low tie bar's adjusting screw is rusted, but not other bolts. And it is only the first winter and consider I washed my car quite often during the past couple months, too. Crazy salt...

Lucky for me Jen makes car washes..

She has a FREE touchless and a FREE brushed wash in the back of her plant..

I will be doing suspension work after paint next month..

In general, is it a good idea to buy used suspension given they are in decent condition?

Aaron, you are right.

I saw them in person. Missing front adjustment *****, a few minor rust spots on the plate, from far away, looks nice. Up close is covered by break dust. He said the price can be better than 1850.

But he said the shocks were only a couple of months old and doesn't know if there were the regular Hipermax II shocks or Version 1. I don't know, I wasn't getting enough info from him to make me believe that these are in great used condition.

He does have some very nice stuff, like Volk CE28 and black 17"x8 TE37 (light as hell). But too bad I am not getting rims yet.

New shocks for me, not used for sure.
