Higher Stall Torque Converters

I've been doing alot of research on these, and am seriously considering one in the future (still need to do alot more reading for what I want it for).

What I want to ask is should I rebuild my tranny if I do this, or do you think I can leave it for now (I know I need a beefier tranny oil cooler)?

Should I consider upgrading my drive axles if I change the torque converter? (I've already had to replace drivers half shaft due to some partial tear out, replaced with remanufatured OEM)

Any Pros and Cons from the experts??

oooooo i love when you talk all technical michelle. why do you want one? the purpose for getting it. need to that to tell you if its worth it. right now i would say no.

i'd go thru the tranny Michelle, toughen it up a bit, new or improved clutch plates..
not sure if a shiftkit is available or not but you can prob still do mods to it, like pulling a few springs, opening some of the oil lines to increase pressure etc..

The main reason I'm looking at it is to decrease power loss at the toque converter. Its a real slow starter. Secondly when I do take it for a run, I can launch alot better.

This is still a daily driver, so I'm not looking for one that has true stall at 4,000 RPM, its not practical for my use of this car, just something that betters my launch time (and give a little more ooomph to my shift points).

I'm planning on boosting in the future as well.

boosting you should do it then

Besides an oil cooler, I wouldn't recommend any other mods. Remember that this is a Honda, and it's designed optimally. So if you stay within maybe 15-20% of the design plan, you should be okay. If you plan on more than 240ish hp, then I guess you might need to redesign the tranny.

one thing I've learned, the more you touch on a car, the more can go wrong. so unless you HAVE to, I'd leave it alone.
