high volume oil pumps
has anybody here ever purchased one for their build?
I'm going to take on a 300whp boosted z6 in the near future and am starting to organize my budget and parts list. My last d16 died from oil starvation (i believe, haven't actually checked yet). I want this build to go absouletly perfect.. I don't mind the extra overkill for peace of mind. I was wondering what your guys opinions on high volume oil pumps are? Overkill or good investment? pump if you want to.. go to honda/oil pumps/toga. It's $140 US.. not bad of a price. |
From what i hear going too much is bad for the oil as it shears the oil much more. Stock honda pumps are built for twice the allowable flow rates. IMO jus buy a new one and you'll be fine

^^ thats what I was thinking. But some guy i was talking to (who has one himself) said his builder recommended it. He's at 350whp though. I know plenty of guys with 300whp with stock pumps.. but i just wanted to keep my options open and take everything into consideration
