Hi guys. I seem to be experiencing a recurring problem with a high idle and slight off-the-line hesitation. Here are some of the symptoms:

• Vehicle idles excessively high (3-4k rpm) upon starting ... especially in the mornings.
• Car seems to be hesitating slightly when trying to take off in first gear ... you have to rev it up over 2k rpm at times

Any idea what this could be? I'm thinking it sounds like a typical vacuum leak ... but are there any notorious locations for this type of problem on a 4th gen ('88 1.5L, 5 speed)? What would be the best method for troubleshooting these symptoms? Thanks in advance for any help guys ... much appreciated.

iddle set screw for the high idle
also what rpm does it idle at when the car is warm?

vacuum leak..check all vacuum hoses

to check for vacum leak u can rent a tool from crapy tire that will test your vacum pressure

or if you have a smoke machine you can locate it in 2 seconds....
