My alternator is getting weak, ALMOST 200,000Km and more than half of its life has had 800+watts on it, plus fogs and all the other aux stuff... I want to get one of those rebuild kits for it, and rebuild the alt as a preventative maintence (thats the aviation background in me, preventative maint. is burned in my head lol)

I just dont get stuck somwere, and i want to up the amperage anyway, cuz even my cap isnt helping as much as it used to on those heavy hits...

Now ive seen the kits for just oem spec parts, but ive also seen they heavy dudy high amperage kits, Ive seen some that idle at OEM spec max output amperage!

Now my question is where do i get these kits (my CT dint have any for a civic) and will these kits take more power from the engine because obviously it will be running more than usual, or it might be a bigger pully or something takeing even more engine power..?? not sure how it all works...


anyone with experiance in these kits please share their opinions/ reviews.. are there better kits than others ect...? I dont want to buy a new alt, high outputs are way to expensive, and all they are a rebuilt OEMs
