hhmmm.... what do to?

ok so next year is gonna be my final year of UNI and i've decided i'm gonna be commuting......I have a perfectly fine 89 EF dx (thats auto and i've had for about 4 years....) with 220 clicks on it, no problems what so ever......

so my question is what would u guys suggest, cause i'm constatly thinking about it and its driving me nuts......

1. should i ride my EF out for the year and wait to buy a new car after i graduate? (I love EF's but it's auto and i'm dying for a stick)

or

2. buy a new car in the final year as the commute is about 80 - 100 kms one way? and if so what ride???

mind you whutever the car is, its gonna see pure highway, nothing else......

id say keep the ef since its not gona depreciate as much as a new car with all ur highway driving since the ef already has 220 clicks on it, just my opinion

makes sense to me.

buy a new car but mad km's on it by the time your done schooling or what ever the car will depreciate.
plus not gonna find something that will be as much as a gas miser as the ef.
also save you from uping the insurance + monthly payments than the normal gas prices rising too.

keep the ef for now.will save you $$ in the long run.

yea tru thanks.......even tho i'm dying for a manual i'll prolly just keep it.......but i would have around 8gs to spend on a new car, just to let u know......but then i'm thinking it's 4th year university right (my last), so when i graduate i can prolly buy something even nicer (got my eye on the S2000) u know.......

I was also thinking of swapping the tranny on this to manual just to have some fun for a while...... now i know people would say just sell it and buy a manual one but i know whuts been done to this car, it's in good condition, and if i sell it and buy one that is already manual then i'm sorta entering the "unknown," u know whut i mean........

If you don't have any problems with your current ride, I don't see why not. Trust me, you don't want to be stranded in the middle of the highway when it breaks down. Especially if it's like -35 out during the school year in the winter.
And if you wait til you graduate, there's some sort of grad rebate you can cash in on with most of dealerships. You could save some $ in the long run.

i would hold off from doing any swaps and just buy a nicer car thats standard after university, because really if you are going to go into a proffectional career im sure not too many people would want to be seen driving an ef..as unfortunate it is to say u know?

oh yeah defnitely see what ur saying, but a new car would be the first thing on my list after i graduate regardless. I'm just thinking of doing the auto to manual so i can have some fun in my final year, plus i can get it done for $500 bux.....plus the EF is gonna stay with me until it dies, never gonna sell it.....
