hey wats up guys..need some help
ok i know i posted this before but i didnt even get the engine still. i am still deciding.
I want to go turbo, so i have the option of finding a b18b, how much do they run for? would it be better to turbo that than a b16a1? vtec doesnt matter right? how high does the b18b rev? i want something that can go to at least 8. if the b18b doesnt rev that high, how how does it rev? can i get it to be a high revving engine? thanks for the help..

If you're thinking turbo, the best way to go is lower compression, bigger displacement.
So B18B
From what I recall it red lines around 6700
But thats pretty irrelevant because you would be looking to change your fuel map once the turbo is in or maybe before, which means more than likely chipping your ECU
Chipped ECU usually have higher redlines

B18B redlines at 6800 and cuts out at 7200, if you want to rev higher than that you had better have the block built and valvetrain swapped out, the stock B18B is no where near as strong as a GSR or SiR motor in terms of high revs.
With a nice turbo setup well tuned you can safely run 10 psi daily driven on a stock B18B (compression and leak-down tested before hand to ensure cylinder integrity), just use the stock computer, upgraded fuel system and a fuel controller such as an S-AFC and some other little things.. you'll have so much torque coming out of your *** you won't need to rev to 8000 like you would with a B16A to pick up dust.

niiiice... this is exactly what i'm lookin for... so how much would a b18b go for these days? and what types of turbo packages are out there for for a b18b? I don't think I have the know-how to come up wiht a custom turbo system or even the cash for that... so i guess my next question is, how much would I have to cough up for a b18b with a good beginner's turbo package (if there is such a thing) to go with as well?
