hey how is it going tcc members i am going to be transforming my 1995 Honda civic dx coupe into an ice racing car and i was just wondering if anyone had some suggestions on what i should get for my car to make it good on the track and any engine mods for it thank you very much

No experience in ice racing nor knowledge in regulations.

Are you allowed to swap? I know there are rules for the tires you use but that's about it.

Installing higher rate springs and some bigger sway bars is always a plus regardless of what kind of racing it is. Less body roll the better. A basic b20 swap would most definitely put you over the edge without breaking your bank. Fairly cheap swap and has quite a bit of torque to get you out of the corners. If swaps aren't allowed then d16z6 with the si tranny would definitely be better than the stock dx non vtec engine.

cool thanks man ill start looking into it and i think i might just do the b20 swap for it but sadly it wont be ready till next winter because i need a new control arm for the front right and a ball joint is going on the left , also i need a new rad too :P

my buddy was doing ice racing in a subaru last year he was saying that he wishe dhe could get more travle out of the suspesion but not get the body roll that comes with jacking it up. i guess if ur hard core and its allowed (dont know rules either) tub it and move shock mount points if $ and skill/tools allow keep your centre of gravity low with a lot of travell i would say

^^doesnt really make sense. Increased shock travel will result in more body roll. If you reduce shock travel, you decrease body roll. Unless you mean on rebound you extend the shock but then again it will directly relate to body roll. Jacked and high spring preload would probably work the best. You never want to eliminate body roll, need it to be controlled to certain limit, otherwise you'll spin out or under steer. So in reality, body roll is what keeps you coming around a turn at higher speeds.

thats what i mean to be able to control it sorry was in a hurry the other day. just to be able to control it if u had a lot of travel so u can adjust per day/track
