Hesitation

My car has just over 5,000 kms on it. When I shift into 2nd gear, there's a hesitation or lack of power for a second or two. I don't know WTF's going on with it. There used to be plenty of power immediately after shifting into 2nd.

With the mileage on the car, it won't be a problem with the exhaust, fuel filter or anything like that. There have been absolutely no modifications done to the car. The only thing I can think of is maybe the type of gas I'm using (Sunoco 92 octane), or perhaps I should add a fuel system cleaner since it runs rich.

I'm hoping someone might have knowledge of my motor and be able to help me out, before my only choice is to take it to the dealer.

BTW, for those that don't know my car...it's an '02 SiR, K20A3 motor

don't you still have warranty on it? 5000km isn't a whole lot, is that just the break in period? I dunno cuz I didn't buy a new car when I purchased mine

Anyways, it should still have warranty on it, and just let the dealership fiddle with it. Of course bring it to a good dealership that won't joyride your car around

That's exactly what I'm afraid of.

The difference between the sales department and service department at my dealership is like night and day. I service cars for a living, and where I work our standards of customer service and workmanship are far better than any dealership I've visited. I simply hate going to them, warranty or not.

I took my last car to the dealership for a recall and a couple of other minor checks last year. First off, they informed me that it was going to be approxiamately two hours, which I kind of expected (they don't rush to take care of you unless you're about to make a $25,000 or more purchase). Anyways, I decided to go for a walk to a nearby mall and maybe do some shopping while I was waiting. On my way back I see a young guy in my car stopped at an intersection. I crossed the intersection right in front of him and just after I crossed, the guy peels out behind me and speeds down the street past me and into the dealership. Well, I guess he didn't recognize me as the owner. It also annoyed me that he had adjusted the seat all the way back and reclined, and he was leaned over to the centre of the car like he thought he was cool.

Same thing happened to me when I brought my car to get serviced...
as I go to pick up my car, the guy pulling into the the waiting area reving the hell out of my car, he pulls up right infront of me, gets out, says the keys are in the car, and walks by like the hardcore that he thinks he is
