Help with spark plugs and wires

hey guys got a d16y7 and need to know wat you guys recommend for spark plugs and spark plug wires.

curently has 70k on it and i am in big need of a tune up and i want to know wat brand plugs and wires i should go with. I want some performance out of this aswell if possible. At this time i only have a air intake in it and an exhaust.

What brand plugs and wires are good?
and if possible can someone tell me a company that makes coloured wires as well and is good too. Cuz i want blue wires but i dont want looks to kill my engine.

so question is wat brand do you guys recommend for plugs and wires and where can i get it. since crappy tire is always out of stock

Does the size of the wires make a difference or is it the core.

You won't gain horsepower from "race plugs and wires". stick with honda O.E. stuff. The big wires are only needed when using forced induction. The extra money spent won't benefit you, unless your car is turbo.

NGK is the best IMO. I only run NGK in my car, and only copper core (the cheap ones) cause that's what came in it originally, and that's what the gap recommended for. If I were to change, I would not feel comfortable with that same gap. You prob won't need new wires unless you really wanna get blue ones or your stocks are burned somehow. As for mixing, you can if you want. And Bosch Platinum 4 is crap...you can only have one spark at any time. Having four electrodes actually blocks your mixture from spreading evenly through the cylinder.

the four ground electrodes are supposed to reduce the resistance through the plug, to the head/block. If NGK were garbage, Honda wouldn't use them. As for wires, you shouldn't need them. You definatly don't need over-size, totally overkill, wires. Mixing brands won't hurt your engine. You can open the gap a little more than stock. That will create a hotter spark. Also, you can index your plugs, if your worried about the flame front being blocked.

I have use the two bosch (platinum and P. 4), they both suck, don't do nothing for the price, I just got new NGK few hours ago, they run better. The Bosch plugs are burnt on mine. The white part of the plugs turned brown starting from the metal part up, you can still see whites. The electrodes are all cover with carbon, smells bad thou. I think if I change them later on, I think I would be in trouble. I will show the plugs or compare if anyone is interested, don't know if anyone has the same problem or is it just me.

I recommend Nology HotWires for spark plug wires.
These wires improve engine response and increase power.
Also highly recommended with use of the Hyper Ground System.

As for spark plugs, use whatever Honda recommends. In other words, stock plugs.

nology wires are meant for waste spark systems. If you want something like that, buy a multi disharge box. And once again, you don't gain power from plugs or wires.

I think internet nopionline.com or any other sites are cheaper, could be wrong, but I found really cheap sway bars for half the price that T.O. shops are charging. Walmart never carry any performance stuff, aleast C. Tires have stuff, too bad they don't always have them on hand.

actually, the guys are right! Didn't think went I post the previous post. Adding preformance plugs and wires does increase performance, that's b/c they are new. I am sure if you change new stock plugs and wires, you will get the same performance. Just change the plugs, unless you are going for looks, then go with blue or any colour wires.

you should be able to get ngk plugs from the dealership. they won't cost much more than c.t. I can get them at cost, so if your going to a meet let me know and i'll grab some.

Tried searching for my question but I couldn't really get the answer I was looking for.

I just bought plugs from Parkway for my Civic Hatch D16Y7. Do I need to gap them or can I just install them the way they are? These are the regular plugs that the guy at the parts department recommended for my car.
