help! simple greened my engine bay today...
and all these problems occured!!! i didn't notice it until i started driving the car at night. i read in the other thread that 01+ civics get some problem where they get some voltage problems and starts getting all hay wired well thats what happened to my car, except its a 94. the battery light kept coming on and when i would turn my lights on, it wouldn't come on but i left it with my drls and everytime i gas it my lights brighten up like my night time lights. then i was thinking wtf?! so i started playing around with everything and hit high beam then BOOM. a flash of blue super bright light came out of my headlights and then they blew. when the car is not moving, the battery lights go off and my dash lights and everything go back to their normal output. but once i start going they go super bright again. what happened?!?!?! i want to take it to honda tomorrow to get see what the problem is but im cash strapped and feel that they're going to charge me an arm and a leg. this is stressing me out. could it be because i got water on my alternator while washing my engine bay? i covered almost everything though. light plugs, battery, ecu, distributor, and even plugs that i didn't know. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

if you covered everything properly it could be an unrelated problem, that just happened now...
otherwise maybe you got water in somewhere where it shouldn't be, i've never had this problem and i've simple greened my engine many times, so i have no clue what it could be, aside from an unrealted issue, or mabye you still have water all in your engine and in certain plugs and stuff... |
i let it dry in the sun with the hood open for 1 hour or more. to be more specific, this is what i covered.
http://tinypic.com/51zj1v the arrows are pointing to all the plugs which are there that i covered. but this is an old pic because i have a sri now. |
i usually run the engine right after i've rinsed it to let all the stuff evaporate...
i have no clue man, see what it does in the morning after it's had time to really dry out |
maybe check your underhood fuses?
|
damn, k i'll try and start it up again tomorrow. i don't know think anything was still wet though.
|
u cooked the voltage regulator on your alternator man...u didnt cover that now did you?

Dear me....i myself have never had a single problem with simple greening. . .at all......i leave my car to dry for like 30mins and it's fine afterwards i can drive boot around and do anything. . . .that's weird. . .
|
another thing to remember is to not use high pressure, just a steady flow
|
Did you follow the instruction given in the other thread?
