Help Painting valve cover

Help Painting valve cover
I'm plannig to paint the valve cover on my 93 civic CX(HB) but before i start, just wondering is there any kind of trick or hints or anything else that I should consider. any thing like paint type, removing the valve cover or ....
any kind of info would be helpfull since I have no clue on how to do this!!!!!
