get a cat and resonator (if you don't have them).
Or get a quiter muffler (there are plenty of options here).

fighting_irish1 25-Apr-2007 02:58 PM

u got and susgestions on which ones are quieter?????

imported_kmodee 25-Apr-2007 03:11 PM

Apex'i WS or Buddy club Spec with silcener...but most ppl will say Apex's as its almost like stock exhaust with regards to sound..

i'm happy (along with a few friends of mine with theirs) with my magnaflow. But i've got a cat and a baffled resonator along with 2.5" exhaust.
But ya, apex-i WS, greddy evo2, RSR Ex Mag, Greddy SP2, Thermal R&D or Dynomax super turbo seem to be popular with people who want a quieter exhaust.

An OEM ITR/GSR/SiR muffler.

I've never liked the sound of a lawnmower doing 8000rpm, or at any rpm for that matter, therefore I've never gone with the typical aftermarket "ricer" muffler. I hope I'm not offending anyone here. If you want a car that sounds nice at idle and only screams in the high revs and doesn't sound obscene while cruising, then go with a plain ole dynomax turbo muffler. A resonator isn't necessary unless you want extra quiet, though I kept blowing them so I just got rid of it altogether. I've been running that setup, together with a dc sports header and 2.5 inch exhaust pipe for years and have never been pulled over for noise pollution. It sounds nice without the weed wacker shrill and I've had nothing but complements on it.

I simply removed my muffler (exits just infront of the passenger rear wheel) and my car actually got quieter (unless you stomp on it, then it's louder:D ).

You could always stuff on of those silencer plugs in the end of your muffler, but I don't know what your muffler looks like. Is it the round "ricer" style? (on offense...lol). If so, just jam a silencer in it. Can get em at crapytire...etc.

you removed your muffler.................

why?

MightyMouseTech 02-May-2007 09:32 PM

Tanabe makes some good quiet systems.

First reason: It had a leak at the joint where it now exits (just infront of the rear wheels). and it sounded like CRAP, all hissy and buzzy like exhaust leaks are....so i took it off to get a new crush gasket and new bolts for the joint....

2nd reason: I then realized that it wasn't all that loud, in fact it sounds better now than it did with the vibrant "ricer" style can muffler that was on it. Cruizing along it is not as droning, yet step on it and she barks like crazy. And I also realised there was a decent amount of weight savings by leaving it off.....so I left it off. I may just make a tail-pipe piece that exits out the side just in front of the passenger rear wheel...never seen that on a honda before... :D
