Help I need somebody.......

I have been having some problems with my car lately and well yesterday it wouldn't start so here's what happenned......

A couple of weeks back i would be drving normally 5th gear 120 on the highway.... foot on the gas, just doing fine...when all of the sudden the car would just cut out it wouldn't respond to the gas pedal..I mean I would pump the pedal and I could here the car revving but the car was just cruizing... the rpm's would not respond to the revving...

Then I would be driving and when I am shifting gears and get of the clutch to press the gas it would jerk hard..

I have also had the car stall on me a few times...

Last night though I went to start my car and it just wouldn't start...I went to boost it and it wouldn't start I mean I had full batery.....then I went to bump start it and after about 3 times at the clutch it started, but it died right way as soon as I got off the clutch...so I bump started it again and this time I just punished the car at this time I was furious. So up to 7 grand I go no hesitation from the car then I shift to second and the car just goes crazy it starts to jerk really hard like it was gonna stall...i felt like i was riding a mechanical bu ll that how hard it was shaking

I finally make it of my works drive way..drive for 50 feet and bam the car cuts out again...so in to second gear I go and bump start it again .....I know it was gonna stall again after that so when I was waiting for the light I just revved the car so it wouldn't stall..... then I had to keep the rpm's up the whole way home...that was the fun part ....I pulled in to my drive way and the car was running fine again, like nothing happenned.... a nice steady idle....

and no I didn't need gas i just filled up on 94 octane ..30 km's ago..........

does this sound familiar do you know what it might be can you help me out is their something else you need to know...please ask i really need some help on this I don't want to take it to a dealership or midas to get ripped off......by the way my cap as in cap and rotor has a hole in it i guess that's a bad thing eh....... ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????

Honda is doing a recall on it's ignitions. I'm not to sure if your car was on the list but it does sound like that's where the problem lies. Give your dealership a call.

Man, first of all, change your cap and rotor, clean the distributor. Likely what happened is that moisture got inside the cap and froze or whatever...so once the engine was warmed up the water had evaporated and it ran fine. Stop being cheap and go replace this obviously damaged part with a new Honda one...if it's not in stock, C/T crap will do you fine until you get a Honda one. Use electrical contact cleaner on your distributor to clean it up, and use a hair dryer to make sure no more moisture is trapped in there. some people....you will cause way more damage doing what you are doing than it will cost you to replace the damn cap.

Repair what is obviously wrong....the hole in your cap. Then, continue to troubleshoot. If you are not comfortable troubleshooting, bite the bullet and go to someone who knows what they're doing.

Yeah, sounds like you really love your car and maintain it REAL well I have no patience or sympathy for ******** like you. I replied telling you what you ought to do so as to expedite the process of you fixing your car so you don't continue to do things that you mentioned above...I feel terrible for cars that end up in the hands of clowns like you.

Werd cluster....I hear ya'. That highway thing is wierd...the way he made it sound was like it popped out of gear, but that's got nothing to do with the starting problems. That would be more abuse-related wear (on the tranny).

Easy boyz - keep it productive...

I had something similar happen to my car awhile back and it was a faulty IAT sensor. It took me about a month to find because it would rarely through codes...

Fabian - you throwing any codes at all?

no one asked for your smartass comments. This is the Technical section of the forums...so drop the chit-chat *******.

When a car doesn't run right, it's not it's fault, and flogging it won't solve your problem. Your car is telling you it's sick, it needs attention and care, not for you to take a cold engine up to 7000rpm, and that's on the low cam too. VTEC doesn't even work until oil reaches a certain temps. Just cause you don't race doens't mean you don't beat on your car. Racers actually have much better maintained cars than most ppl. As a matter of fact, most "lady driven" cars suffer from this condition....lack of care. Now shut up, no one wants to hear your whining again until you have done something about your problem...come back and report about the car improving or no change.

damn, you guys sound like sworn enemies

ez

replace the distrib cap and other things you need and post back and tell us if you've solved the problem or not. There are lots of people on this board that know their stuff, so more heads working together is better than one person trying to figure it all out

Good luck man.
