Timing belt possibly snapped? Does the engine crank over really fast?

it's either a faulty cap or the timing belt snapped

LOL this is the funniest thread ever! DOHCTOR's reply is the best

1st of all, making a thread like this is totally useless. you simply don't have enough knowledge about cars to provide or recieve any real useful info. If you did, you wouldn't post something like this.

Could be anything from the battery terminals coming loose, to PGMFI fuse blowing, ignition switch dead, ECU dead, distributor dead (most likely but not enough info), timing belt snapped (also very likely)...

pay attention to things going on as you attempt to start (various lights, clicking, sound of the engine turning over.... ie. can you hear the valves and pistons slapping together??)

my friend and I were in his car on the hwy in the states. his car just cut out and woudn't restart. so, we pulled over, i put the ground terminal back on the battery and we were on our way. so it could be a 2 minute fix, or it could be 8 hours plus a tow truck if the timing belt snapped.
