Help: Do stainless brake cables really helps?
The brakes on my EP3 feels numby and slow respond.
So i come into the stainelss brake cables. Does anyone could share some of his experience? Is it really that "improved"? Whats more, should i spend the money? The SiR comes only with a set of 15" Wheels only... I can't imagine will it able to stop with a set of 18" :D |
I dunno about stainless cables but I know stainless flex lines make a difference
|
well, i guess we are talking about same thing, so i guess it really works. how much am i looking for installed?

a case of beer if I do it :P
Honestly check out the tcc affiliates. I think upgrading the brake system is one of the best things you can do. |
yes the stainless lines help a bit. the steel braid helps the line not to swell under braking which leads to brake fade. if you are doing the lines upgrade the brake fluid and pads as well. and that thing should stop very well when you are done but dont just do the lines by them selves. remember its a brake SYSTEM.

thanks for the advice guys, will do it soon to Mosport =D

ya, I'm a fan of SS brake lines. however, the best improvement came from pad materials and master cyl upgrades. I dunno about the EP3, but maybe look into the RSX-s hydraulics, or the CTR stuff
|
hehe, those are toooo advanced for my upgrade plan... i'm more into chasis tuning than speed... been done speed already

Stainless steel brake lines are good. My car stops like no tomorrow when i press on the brakes. Also upgrade your master cylinder too. It also prevents it from rusting.

gives a more positive feel...some people would say touchy... you might not like it right away, but you will get used to the feel and grow to like it.... gets rid of the rubbery feel, adds confidence to your brakes.

don't cheap out and buy the lowest price SS flex lines you can either... they must be DOT approved, and trust me, the cheap ones arent', i've heard of and seen a few junk lines balloon, blow, and even more fun is when they collapse internally and lock one wheel on solid on the highway.
