Help with Apexi Turbo Timer Installation
Hey guys, need some help again.
I just bought an Apexi Turbo Timer, but I have no clue how to install it. I searched the net, read the instructions and I am still having problems.
So far this is what I understand:
There is a grey wire that I must attach with the provided clip to my e-brake wire.
There is a black and white wire that goes into my ecu. Btw I have a 99 EL with a d16. The instructions only show where the wires go in a d15 and a b16. Is there a diagram somewhere for a d16? And how do i attach the wires to the ecu? Solder?
And then I have blue, green, and red wires. These go somewhere near my ignition, or so I think. Now the first step would be to remove the steering wheel column cover, but how? Is it just the 3 screws at the bottom? Once that is done, where do i attach the green red and blue wires? The are joined together at the end with like a plug type thing, do i plug that in, or do i cut it off and solder the individual wires?
Hope someone can help me

well where in the ecu does it go? which pin? or for what function?
Because you can find an obd2b pinout diagram to find out where it needs to go on your car.
I am pretty sure the wire that goes to the parking brake is just a safety/theft feature and not essential to have. Although hooking it up is simple enough.
What do the instructions say about the red, blue and green wires?
I would imagine there is prolly a 12volt ignition switched source, constant power and accessory.
Maybe you should have a shop install this for you, i would if i wasn't comfortable installing something, especially something electronic, you can really mess stuff up if you do something wrong.
With a little more detail i am sure i could help you out though.
Another thing, does your car have an alarm?
