the exaust gasket is made of metal and 9/10 times its still good!!! unless you stuck a screw driver in there to pry the header off it is the intake gasket that is reccommended to change every time ya remove it !!!!!

I bought a new one... they're like ~$30 at Parkway Honda with member discount. They get crushed when you tighten it down, so I'd say get a new one. Also, if your exhaust is coming off, be sure to buy two new flex-joint bolts and nuts. You don't need the springs, but TRUST me when I say you'll need the nuts and bolts. I just had my exhaust apart this past weekend, and I had to cut those bolts off with a grinder. My car is a 98 and they looked pretty bad. Luckily I knew it, so I had bought the parts in advance.

Can't agree more - INVEST in new bolts.

this is whats special about the exhaust bolt kit...they allow the exhaust to rotate and move about on the exhaust donut gasket and keep a tight seal

mmmmm thats what i took off.... if you wanna know about ghetto exhaust systems as we speak mine is held together with that tin foil duct tape... so far so good... no major leaks or anything... i just checked it and still holdin... it'll last for a bit more anyways

but you have a machine shop that can just mill the head and the exhaust flange flat the rest of us need these gasket thingies

and for the record... no gasket should ever be re-used even though it's common practice.
