head work limitations on lsv

i have a 92 honda civic dx swapped with a stock ls bottom end the head is itr with type r cams im trying to gain as much compression as possible without pulling the block apart so i guess my main question would be how for or how much can i shave the head before interference between piston and valve ive heard way to many answers to trust any of them looking for some knowledgeable insight thank you

I wouldn't bother shaving the head. The compression gain isn't gonna get you much power for the amount of work. Keep in mind that as you shave the head, aside from valve/clearance issues you're also reducing the distance from the cams to the crank, meaning the timing belt will be out. If the heads off, it's probably equal or less work to put high comp pistons in the block in stead. Another option is getting high comp valves put in the head. And changing the valves on a head that's already off is really easy.
