Having a little problem.

Aiight, The other day (before all this snow hit) I was on the highway, and decided i'd pull the car a little harder then normal.. (NO I was not speeding, I just accelerated a little faster.) Well, my motor started smoking.. BADLY.. I got off the highway, and pulled to the side.. So I could take a look @ what was wrong, the first thing I did was check the Head gasket, because the smoke was BLACK and It was worrying me big time..

It ended up being the head gasket, so I went and bought a new one.. But how the HELL do I get this thing off? Its a 1998 Aucra Integra GSR / LS VTECH Motor.. Someone please help.

Also, my head gasket ended up being the problem, so that means I was burning alot of oil.. Would it be a wise thing to change the oil? Like.. Drain it all, and put new in?

If you dont have a clue where to start i suggest you leave it alone, a head gasket isnt like a valve cover gasket and its pretty complicated. Take it to a shop if you dont know how. Has it overheated b4?

Headgasket is a lot of work. You basically have to dismantle the whole engine.

Like Ivan said, if you don't know where to start, don't mess with it!

And that's actually a BIG problem..

Yeah I got the fix, and I'm 100% sure its the head gasket.

Can anyone point me to a shop? Or would anyone be willing to change it for me for say 150..?

LOL omgf!! how do I change the head gasket!!? if you don't know... don't try. I did a couple of Neon gaskets it wasn't bad but MAN... at least I didn't need e-instructions to begin. Leave it to Scott to take care of you and do it right. You'll need new headstuds, and prolly other work, considering your headgasket failed I'm assuming relatively quickly? So something is wrong there or the head wasn't torqued in sequence.

^ Hahahahahaha.. No.

I always thought asking before going in full force was the smart move, but no one said I'd get made fun of.
