i have a 93 civic hatch, i have $200 to spend on lowering springs what kind do u recommed? im a daily driver in the city and want a smoth ride. big thanks 4 any hep

if you are a daily driver in the city and want a smooth ride, stick with your stock springs. invest that 200 dollars into a nicer seat from a 99-00 sir to smoothen out that ride even more

I bought Eibach sportlines for around $200 something about 3 years ago. Still have them on my car. Compared to my friend's rides and stuff they all say mine feels most like stock.

I would suggest coilovers. The ride quality is sacrificed the lower u go obviously, so it depends how low u wanna go? U can still ride good at a 2 inch drop. The trick is how u set up the car, My acura is slammed all the way, but Ive raised the back just a little higher than the front and the car rides amazing, much better than equal height all the way around. I also got 195-60-r14 rubber and would never go back to 17s. The biggest id go is 15s, tire size also has alot to do with how ur car rides....

ps U can get a decent set of coilovers for 200, maybe even less

U do get what u pay for.......to a certain extent.....Basically A spring is a spring, whether Eibach, Neuspeed, or Skunk2 makes it.....Oh I bet u guys dont even know who makes SPW springs, Do U really think that all of these companies got their own spring manufacturing industry, Cmon, get real, A coilover setup does have a shorter spring and its stiffer, but if ur not going too low, u will be okay...

i got those $99 toms coilovers... i have good shocks so they aren't a problem but i wouldn't recommend using any coil overs with stock shocks... most lower springs on stock shocks is questionable too though

To me eibach is the best spring making company out there. From all reviews I've ever read they are also better at keeping their spring rates as the years go by and not sagging. Oh, I forgot to add I owned sportlines myself

I believe in you get what you pay for. I have mugen full sleaves in my car and the ride is unbelieable.

for 200 your looking at used prokit. snything lower will blow your struts over the next year, which will lead to 600$ more, plus the crappy ride in the meantime.

coilover lol... please dont go there with "I bet you guys dont even know" bul****, do a search for coilovers on this forum and you will quickly learn "what we know"

unless you drive on silky smooth roads, used prokit is your magic answer... it will fit your budget and be freindly to your struts.

what struts do you have? I'd go with skunk2 springs if you want to stay within that price range. They're better than most.

I'm a big fan of something I just can't recommend after placing the springs on my car I'm super happy but yes like I said I can't recommend it...

Your best bet is to go to an importers, they usually have very nice setups for quite cheap..

I was suprised to hear that Tiens are low grade suspension in japan, its just how they were marketed here. There are much better brands in japan that you can get a hold of for a lot cheaper.

I've had a few kinds of springs over the years.

I had a set of tenzo R springs 2 3/4 drop. the springs were progresive rate so the top of the spring is softer than the bottom. nice riding not too bumpy. bit stiffer than stock.

worst things I ever bought were the coilover sleave things. maybe some people like em and good you for you. the springs are short and constant rate stiff crap. the spring would jingle around if the car goes over a bump. had to have it up and down on the hoist 10 times to get the height matched on every corner.
please don't think that you're going to raise it in the winter and lower it in the summer. once they get full of sand and dirt they ain't going anywhere.

if you're not changing the shocks don't go too low or too stiff or you blow them in a month.

I don't know if a hard ride is what you want or not.

Don't go selvees. Unless there custom spring rate ground controls they suck.

Stick with springs....I'm a Neuspeed fan.

I think tanabe has great suspension sets. But you ain't gonna find tanabe for $200. tanabe ranges to about $800-1500. But I think it's worth it.
