hard pull to the right...not alignment!!

for the las month my cars been pulling to the right...it started off not too bad but now it got worse..at most i thought the toe was out of whack.

so after the alignment it still pulls to the right...i seen the guy do the alignment, he checked for bent parts and came up with nothing he said it maybe a bad tire, or maybe the power steering rack?

the car is 98EL, 5pd.,160km, lowered, upper strut bar.

any ideas?

possibly their alignment machine is out of calibration???
i know that mississauga, VW's machine isn't calibrated, and cars still pull to one way... also could be a SHODDY alignment!... i know people that will print the stats before a final tightening of the suspension!

Posssible tire pull, try rotating your front tires left to right, if it pulls to the left or drives straight than you have a tire pull. Could you send me the alignment numbers, (camber left and right, caster left and right and toe left and right for the front and rear) I specialize in front end and alignments. The numbers might help me help you.

heres the after

Left front

-1.07camber
1.83 caster
.02 toe

Left Rear
-2.26camber
.07 toe

Right Front
-1.37 camber
1.93 caster
.04 toe

Right Rear
-1.95camber
.02 toe

i watched the guy do the alignment and he did tighten everythin before he printed the results.

thanks for the feedback.

If one tire has camber wear and others don't it could pull.

tread seperation could for it.

You say nothings bent, and they wouldn't align the tires with bad tie-rods... So it pretty much points towards the tires.

Is your steering and tires perfectly TDC after the alignment?

The shop seems to have set the alignment up perfectly for road crown. Possible tire pull. Did you happen to have any of the outer tie rods replaced recently????

i havent replaced any parts recently....im gonna try rotating the tires from left to right to see what happens.

also my right-front is sitting alot higher now...before i dint have any finger gap, and now i can easily get two fingers in there..i checked all the other gaps and there all the same...what would cause this?

steering wheel is exactly at TDC but after 60kmph it pulls to the right.

what about wheel bearings or breaks causing a drag? you could have a wheel bearing gone and causing too much friction which might make your car want to drive around that wheel.

jack up your car and spin the wheels, see if there is a diff between the left and the right wheels. if it's pulling to the right and if it is a bearing, then it would harder to spin on on the right side

i tell u 99% is your tire pull or bent rim, most of the time is tire pull. If it is bent rims u can fill the vibration when u are driving sometimes. Check your front end. If your front end is loose it will also do that, but i guess those guys that does alignment checked it.

This guy is right. nletourneau1
just rotate the tires around from L to R and R to L. That should make your tire pull go away unless your tire is really bad and make it pull the other way.

bump from the dead!

I got the same problem! I just gotta 2010 Si sedan with 18K. All was fine until I rotated tires front-to-back. it pulls to the right when i am in gear and it pulls hard when accelerating.

I am skeptical that this is a 'radial pull problem'. Not sure if swapping fronts will fix it, or is alignment a must first? I'd rather not spend $100-120 at dealer to 'try this' grrr

Check the tire pressures first.

Can't be pressure causing this so bad. I had 32.5 psi front right, 32psi left. even if the digi-gauge is off, it's off by .5psi between tires.
