Hard getting the car into first gear

This morning while driving off to work, i had a horrible time getting the car to shift into first gear. I had to really push hard, and second was tough too. Anybody got any ideas as to what the problem may be? I drive a 96 integra. The clutch seems normal and everything, still engages at the usual point as it did before, what could be the problem?

you probably need a clutch, the reason you have a hard time to change the gears is becuase there is load on the clutch friction plate. This puts load on the gears in turn causing them not to float into the gears like they are suposed to. If it just happened, then you probably have a broken torshon spring, it gets between the pressure plate and friction plate and causes that load. it wont let the clutch fully disengauge. If there is air in the line that will do it to, but you dont just get air in a line, somthing has to cause the problem. If you are low on fluid, then check the master if it is leaking, look under the dash on the fire wall on the inside of the car and look for residue dripping from the master. hope that helps
