H22a Swap

H22a Swap
I have this 4dr auto 2000 civic. It puts out 106hp, 103lbs. torque. I've thought about Turbo, but I've decided against it, b/c of issues with the tranny, and the fact that i'll still be auto (ughh). So, after doing some research on B-series and the H22, I'm thinking about getting an H22A (manual). Will there be extensive extra costs b/c i'm going from auto ---> manual? Also, can I still use the same engine mounts?
Does anyone know how much it will cost (incl. installation), and a good place to get this done? I wanna make sure I don't get ripped off, or worse, get an engine on its last legs. My civic only has 30,000 km on it, so I'm hoping I can get good value for it in a swap.
Has anyone ever done this, or know anyone who has?

Weight Distribution
I'm hearing from some people that the H22 will screw up the weight distribution and create a front heavy car.
Am I better off going with a B16, and adding a turbo to that? I think if I went with a B16, I could use the stock engine mounts, and still keep proper weight distribution on the car.

After choppin the A/C and putting the battery in the trunk, the diff would be minimized. CX manual steering rack (heavy steering), chop the p/s pump, add a Benen Strong bar and a carbon fiber hood, and the weight is almost made up for

chughnyc,
I'm doing an H22A swap on a 5th gen civic right now.
The d16z6 is coming out tonight and h22a in by this weekend hopefully
You do need to swap mounts.. For your gen it's much more expensive cuz of the front mount. $1200+
You can get the swap package for about $3000..
As long as you get the prelude shift linkage, you can convert to stick, except you also gotta get a 5spd center console for your civic.. Only thing is prelude linkage may be too long so you gotta cut and weld to length.
There's a lot of little stuff. People just get scared and discouraged.
H22A is about 175-185 lbs heavier than most b series motors.
They recommend integra springs on front to hold it, but civic will
work, you just loose a little handling. no other motor produces like the h22a overall.. it's priced pretty damn close to a gsr motor too.
They also recommend bigger brakes, but that's like negligible..
You gotta remember, when you start modding a smaller motor your pushing it harder.. with the H22, you'll get the same power with honda reliablilty because it's stock!.. Imagine after that, a done up H22? Many people would say i don't need that kind of power.. that's not the point though, it's that you can get that power easily if you wanted just cuz you pay a $1000 more.
With your car as long as you get the specs, it'll be much easier to do cuz everything has NOT rusted to hell underneath.. I've spent quite a bit of time already drilling out screw heads.
If you were a 5th gen or lower I could do your install no prob.. If your interested in swaping it with me, PM ME.. we can talk.

I'm not trying to post false information. I'm just trying to find out if what I heard is true. All I was saying is that a user on another message board told me that I would experience weight distribution problems on the civic if I swapped an H22A. I wasn't sure if the extra 150lbs could do that or not. I'm not a huge tech guy, I'm just looking to get some questions answered.
