H22 Swap into EK bad idea? Help Please??

hey guys Im seriously considering putting in an H22 motor into my 00 civic coupe. I love torque but Ive read up on this motor and I cant seem to get a clear picture of its issues and positives. I am hearing mixed replies in regards to weight problems, oil burning from the H22, axle issues in the future even though they are replaced, and rattling at hiighway speeds. I will be using this car as a daily driver, What are your thoughts on this swap and what are the pro's and con's.. should I go through with this swap or stick to the B16a2..

Thanks a lot guys!

theres a few threads already on this question. as soon as you say daily driver then stick with the b16 if your not planning to do anything fancy then dont do anything fancy and save your money.

cons: NO ROOM TO WORK.. try doing a timing belt or dropping the tranny (clutch) with an h22.. you have to pull the motor.
-more expensive parts to maintain, and fewer used parts for sale (unlike b-series)
-cable transmission, so you'll have to convert to a shifter box and get rid of the better (imo) hydro system.
-some say they like to burn oil a bit more than regular b-series, but if it has been maintained, no need to worry
-have to get a few aftermarket pieces for the swap..

pros:
-inital motor is cheap
-lots of power for the price
tooooooooooooooooooorque

chris does make some good points....i like torque so i'd say if u get a cheap swap then do it. but if your budget is under $2000 then dont.

thanks alot guys, i read a few reviews similar points, a lot of help!! im just worried about the whole rattling at high speeds, i mean i heard it was good for daily driving but i guess we have to have it properly installed to avoid all the unecessary rattles and what not.. im gonan look into the H22.. the b16 seems a little weak for me.. its either the two two or ITR typer motor. Ill just save up a bit more.. THANKS A LOT GUYS!

have you looked into b20vtec or lsvtecs? All you need now is the block and the conversion kit. You already have a good head/tranny!

meh b16 makes plenty of power, for the amount of money on the swap, your b16 could be boosted!

hmm.. b20vtec or the ls sounds good too.. and as for the boost.. with the problems with cops and **** now adays im gonna stick NA!!
