H22 Fellas

hey guys, i was just wonderin where all the h22 guys are, my b16 died on me so im droppin in the h22 this week in my ek. im expecting a big notice in power, considerin my b16 was torqueless. any of you guys out there? also what should i upgrade after 1st? brakes or suspension? i have h&r sports right now, im thinking omni fulls for the weight of the motor, and just an all around better drive. thanks guys!

hey digus888, can you explain more about that?
coz i haven't learn about that yet either


btw, with more torque, i guess you want better rubbers too... if you like launching, if you go fast, you need better rubber to stop nicer =)

im definitley lookin into some good tires and rubbber also, it will help with the stopping, but should i upgrade my brakes, i only have front discs. and am i expecting a lil more sag in my front springs with the 22 up front?

lastly, where are the 22 guys!

It is the next step for the h22's but its damm expesnive if u add up all the stuff u need.

Oh and for the guy doing the h22 swap, Upgrade your brakes for sure, Teknotik has a good deal on kvr pads/rotors, youll notice a huge difference.

well for the h2b he already has all the parts so...might as well...better tranny better gearing...just swap motors out instead of cutting up your car and putting cable shifty in

shorter gearing is your friend and enemy at the same time.
shorter gearing = quicker acceleration
shorter gearing = higher rpms at highway speeds
shorter gearing = lower speed limit

The h2b adapter is an incredibly good idea...especially if you are using an jdm itr tranny. The h22 is hurtin for a better geared tranny and now there is a decent, but expensive, solution.

well the only thing that im always worried about my ekh22 is my axle.im still running teggy axles! i talk to erick(teknotik) about their axles and he sounds pretty confident on how good they are! but if i have the money ill upgrade to stage two axles.. about the brakes, markpa is right! just upgrade your pads and rotors..no need for a rear disc conversion..and if you also have a little more cash go for stage 2 clutch and light flywheel!

for h2b kit!!! it way too expensive!!! buts its worth every penny of it!!!!!

yea im definetly not looking into the h2b kit. the parts left on my b16 that are in good condition (tranny) im gonna let erik take off my hands. ill definetly look into new pads and rotors. blk98cx, did you upgrade your suspension, what are you riding on?

honestly man... you need something firmer than h&r sports in the front... i have h&r race and they are pretty firm, but theweight of my b18c1 still causes it to be a little bouncy...

and brakes... they will feel way to sloppy without an upgrade... front gsrs all the way.. i did the swap and they are incredible. except for stopping while taking a hard corner since all the braking power is up front... just do the rear disk to balance it out...

yea, thats why i want to look into some full coils, my b16 weighed down my h&r's in the front, it was tucked alot more than the rear. im definetly looking into suspension and brakes

well my suspension set up is all mix!!! i have omni full coilover in front with omni cambet kit(you'll def need it) and on rear i got skunk coilver with stock shocks!!! not too bad of a set up!!! front set is most important due to the weight!!! you dont want to run a bouncy set in front coz you'll damage you down pipe or oil pan!!!

just upgrade your front brakes will do it!! i have brembo drilled rotors with hawk pads it works fine...the only thing is if you slam your brake you'll feel the back going crazy!!! its your choice!!

do you have a 22? and rear drum brakes? why does it feel like the back is going nuts?
