i've been thinking about a set of springs to buy but i'm not sure which ones are better...H&R sport or Tien Stech....i'm prob gonna use them on stock for couple month until i get shocks...can anyone gimme some feedback bout both of them?..thanks

buy shocks and do it all at once, not like you need your car lowered just in time for winter and snow right

I would recommend Tein S-Tech, although if your looking for the "slammed" look i doubt you will get that from them.

Im not 100% sure but I was told they were designed to be used on oem or aftermarket shocks so that would be a plus if you decided to run them on stock shocks.

like tucking your tires wont happen with the Stech's. The car will look lowered and have adequate clearance for your suspension to travel without rubbing your tires on the fender lip

No i dont have tein's, i went with full progress coilovers which cost me about $1050. But i helped my friend get a set for his P5 and he was happy with how they made the car feel although they didnt drop the car super low.

they're 1.9"F/R for the civics right?...i think that's good enough for me...i dont want it dropped that far down...pics would be nice for those who have the stech on their civics...thanks

but i'm not sure if that's a reliable reference though.
i know the 92-95 somehow lower than then 96-00, and it's a little bit tucked in.
for 96-00, almost tucked in (which is what i was looking for) but kind of suspicious whether this is really the drop of s tech. how much reliable is that pics from the site?

from the research i did a while back:

tein's are a nice drop, but haven't been battle-tested for canadian climate.

h&r sport springs have been recommended 100% for drop, spring rate. solid springs

further:

neuspeed RACE springs - which even drop lower - look and work very well with STOCK RIMS. 15" rims/rubber make up for the lack of suspension travel with a RACE drop. and you can't argue with the NO GAP DROP. looks incredible. however if you plan on getting bigger rims, RACE springs are a bad idea. no cushioning, and rims will rub like mad.

h&r RACE are an even worse idea with this setup, as they drop the car even lower than neuspeed RACE.

my 2 cents...

one set i dunno much about tho is the tokico illumina handling kit - the one with shocks and springs. anyone have experience with those? i know the shocks are dope but what about the springs???

this spring i'm thinking either this illumina kit or h&r sport + illumina's...

Yeah I wouldnt recommend RACE setup either.
I used H&R Race, with Tokico HP shocks, and even with 15"rims (50 profile) it was a HARSH ride! Not suitable for the city at all! I would personally go with a sport spring for the next summer. H&R sportlines would be my choice though... Nuespeed is said to sag after a little while....

The pic in my avatar is my car with H&R race springs and Tokico HP shocks, 195/50/15 tyres and wheels.... Looked badass, handled badass,never rubbed, but was not suitable for the city....
Other complaints I have about RACE setup:

severe tyre wear, not being able to do an alignment (car too low), tucked in wheels which can bring potential Police harassment (I was lucky though) and again, harsh ride...

oh yeah - forgot to add that - you most definitely need a camber kit with RACE springs. you can -just- get away with it with sport springs.

why weren't u able to do an alignment? i got mine done...

that's a race? wow..i was kind of expecting that kind of look..didn't know need to go down about 2.5.
it doesn't look tucked in though (probably just the angle), but if that's 2.5" drop, i'd be expecting about 2 fingers gap with 1.7-1.8" drop

I'm pretty sure Teins have a gurantee on no more than a few millimetres of sag or something.
