gsr and type r blocks????

gsr and type r blocks????

are the two blocks made out of the same casting??
do they share the same casting number??? p72??

Yes, the jdm itr, usdm itr, jdm gsr and usdm gsr all use the same block, its whats inside that makes the difference.
As long as it says b18c and has a pr3 head/p73 intake manifold its an ITR. The usdm ITR is b18c5 and usdm gsr is b18c1.
Did you also get the jdm itr tranny with super sexy 4.75 final drive?

If you really don't believe me pull the head off and check for p73-A0 on the top of the pistons. If it was a gsr they would say p72-A0

thanks bud.....

i didnt buy the tranny cuz ive got an sir tranny already that i will reuse

im not sure how to remove the cylinder head but ill pull the oil pan off and check for the itr crank with the "R" symbol on it

oh god dont do that. if it says b18c/c5 and the manifold looks like a b16's its a type r. the typer head will have a year stamped on it betweem 97 - 01 and a pr3.
