GSR in EF civic help :(

hi guys... i currently have a 89 civic cx hatch with a GSR motor (or head block) and a b16a1 cable tranny.. i am looking to swap the b16a1 tranny to a b18c1(gsr tranny) to match with the engine but i dunno if that would fit into my ef? cuz its using a cable clutch rite now so i dunno if the b18c1 tranny would work (gsr tranny uses hydraulic)... and btw is the complete GSR swap (engine and tranny) possible on an 89 civic hatch? thanks

why not just stick with the b16 tranny? it has shorter gears...

you could use a ys1 cable tranny (92-93 gsr).
You can cable to hydro conversion kits, but for what its worth you might as well stay with the b16 cable tranny.

thanks for the ideas guys jus wondering if someone can give me some info for the b16a1 cable (the one i am using now) some ppl jus told me that the b18c1 (Gsr) tranny gives better performance than the b16a1 i am using now.. and like the car shouldn't be using a b16a for the GSr stuff like that.. thanks

cuz the person who put the motor in wanted to use a cable tranny in stead of a hydro one and not spend the etxra money for the conversion...maybe thats hows

The gsr tranny has longer gears which will hurt the performance of you gsr. The b16 tranny is best. Stick with what you have.
