Grindish Noise Coming From Shfiter

when i drive my car in 3rd or 4th mostly its heard ...

basically when my RPMs are at around 2800-3000 and i take my foot off the accelerator i hear a grinding type noise coming from my shifter and it rattles my shifter ...

more of a rattling noise? its probably just your shifter linkage rubbing up against your exhaust pipe or something.

Don't think that would make a grinding noise and if it was, he would feel it hitting it for sure. I believe your shifter is stock right Terry?

I'm thinking Tranny or clutch.

I had a similar grinding once and it ended up being a bearing inside the tranny.

Shifter bushings!
if your shifter wobbles all around even when its in gear then yes your going to have to replace the bushings

the wobbles are caused from the shifter bushings. but the grinding is not from that. mine are shot and i dont have a grinding noise.

is it more a rattle than a grind? can you leave it parked, then rev it and hear it?? or just driving in those certain gears (3-4)

most likely the tranny. check the fluid, or better yet flush it out and top her up.
