grinding brake disc

one of my brake discs is making a grinding noise and the brakes don't work too well anymore, but that could be because the brake pads need to be replaced. But what is that grinding noise coming from the disc?

probaby the metal backing of one of your pads making contact with the metal surface of your rotor (metal on metal = grinding noise)

get it checked out, your saftey might be at risk

take off your wheel and have a look, it will take you 5 min tops to get the brake pads out, it is only one 12mm bolt that keeps you from knowing the truth

your brakes (which your life depends on) are showing signs of malfunction and you are worried about mesh inserts???

hehe, not really, but they need to be installed also, did that yesterday evening, and meanwhile i checked my brakes and it are indeed the pads that are totally worn off, so need to get me some new ones. Which brand do you guys advise for OEM calipers?

when you go to check your pads and if you notice one is really worn down more than the other, it could be a sign of a sticking/ seized caliper

if everything looks cool and you just need pads, since the wheel is off and you're there already, throw some grease on the caliper sliders

if you are using stock calipers and rotors and arent looking for a performance set-up, jus go to canadian tire and get a set of monroes.

well, i'm planning to install a totally new brake system with big brake discs and stuff, but that's for after the carinspection, cause they aren't allowed overhere, that's why i need new suspension and stuff too, those ****'s from the carinspection are really hard guys when it comes to tuning, for example your car must be able to drive over a 3 inch high metal boarder, to see if your car is standing high enough, so old OEM-springs back on, coilovers in the trash bin, and after inspection , new suspension of Megan Racing or KW.
