from what i've heard its fairly straight forward... i believe you need the rear engine mount off a 99-00 SiR though?

Yeah but there are some underlying issues.........The shop is dickin' me around.

They are telling me that the engine mounts are not correct. I was under the impression that only the rear mount was incorrect. According to the mechanic the two front mounts are different too.

The motor is JDM. I am not to sure if this makes a difference.

PS- The shop dickin' me around is a long story

JDM or not should make no difference, the casts they use for either motor are the same casts.

Well according to the guy from this website http://tech.hybridgarage.com/tech/6gtech/scott-6g.html

The mounts aren't exactly bolton..... So there might be some truth behind the mounts not being proper.

I hope there is....I really want my car back. It has been gone since Oct 4 2003.

He initially had a hard time getting the JDM motor from his supplier. He got the motor\tranny\ecu\drive shafts\shift linkage on November 10 2003.

He has until November 24 2003 before I really turn up the heat on him. I may have the car towed outta there and to another shop. The only issue is more money to complete the swap at another shop. Civil suits take forever...............................

Still not 'bolt-in'
After re-working the mount with Mark the next weekend, we found out it STILL wasn't fitting properly. We then went to a metal working shop, and they modified it to exactly what we needed in 20 minutes! Meanwhile I had gotten the shift linkage, axles, front lower trans. mount and intermediate shaft from Jerome Soh and realized that the GSR intermediate shaft did NOT fit! After several emails to Matt Blodgett, he told me to give him a call. There were several differences between Matt's swap and mine, most notably was the fact that he used a GSR transmission, while I had the DS VTEC equivalent Y21 (with slightly better gearing in 1st). At that point I decided to re-pull the engine/tranny and look through the holes in the tranny while I tried to fit in the shaft. The seals cleared fine but the GSR shaft splined area was too large by 1/8"! Therefore Matt's intermediate shaft that fit fine after changing seals, didn't fit.

Better Clarification Surrounding Mounts

I got better clarification surrounding my car issues. The idiots at Lucky Star JDM parts in Toronto sold the mechanic doing my swap the proper engine, tranny etc however the engine in question came with 5th generation front mounts hense why it doesn't just bolt up. So in other words this engine was already swapped into a 5th generation civic before mine.........Mmmmmmm, I wonder how many clicks on it????????????????????????????????????????

Honda wants an outrageous amount of money for these SiR mounts. I guess I am sorta stuck, myself and the mechanic have called lucky star. Their response well we thought it was for a 6th generation civic. Sorry, we don't have the proper mounts for you.

NEVER EVER EVER purchasing anything there because their customer service after they have you money is ****!!!!!!!!!
