Get a CAI or stock replacement?

Hi everyone I just got a 2004 civic last year and I am really thinking about some big changes this summer.

I already got a custom catback exhaust put in. Aside from that I dont have anything done.

What can you suggest I do to boost this dissappointing 115 hp coupe to make it decent?

I am looking for 150 hp, nottin big but just so I can accelerate more faster cuz I am a daily driver. When I drive I hate it when everyone else is going faster than you and there is nothing you can do about it LOL.

I was thinking about a AEM V2 Intake, but i did a lil research and found it wont do much, better to go with a CAI. So should I get a CAI or will a K&N stock replacement be just as good?

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks a lot everyone.

you so bought the wrong car dude!

no amount of mods will make that car what you want it to be, unless you drop a K20 or K24 in the mix.

yep... you should have just bought an SIR.

I knew my car was going to be slow when I bought it. I got an aem v2, doesn't really make much of a different. V2 sounds really nice though.

I've had an SRI, CAI, and the v2 in my 04. The v2 sounds the best out of all of them.

ooh... wait I got vtec, it'll make my car go fast...haha. I don't know why people with d-series motors really think vtec is that great.

Vtec in a b-series, and k-series engines are good. Vtec helps me save gas...lol.

I know a lot of people are probably wondering why I bought the SI then. I bought it, cause I can't stand to drive without a sunroof, and that's the truth.

You want more power, boost that thing, or do a swap.

No one is more dissapointed then I am LOL
If i have money to spend I'll swap this turtle anytime haha

I just love the look, the style, so well at least I'll never get a ticket for racing at least. LMAO since its so damn slow.

well thanks I think I will just buy a drop in filter, it will save me the money at least in the long run.

get lightweight 14" rims.

carbon fibre everything + remove rear seats and spare. If you can save couple hundred pounds it'll help.

just kidding

no really,

your car is fine the way it is. I've driven it and it's not THAT bad.

I say what I say cuz I helped my buddy do a turbo on his 2002 Veloz and at the end b/c of the ECU the 01+ uses it was pretty unreliable, so he ended up trading it in for an 04 SiR after all that work.

You're luck you have 115hp, what about me....106hp. I'm not even going to bother trying to make my car faster.

Maybe u should save for a k20 or something :P that will make u like your car more, and keep it fairly reliable too

related but not really: i just wish there was a way to get more TORQUE out of my car...

i've got 160hp, and something like 110ftlbs of torque? meh.

at least mazda's torque #s roughly match their hp #s, for pretty much all their cars

did you mean to say 2.5" piping.. cuz 3.5 is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to big

also don't even bother with the filter or an intake for that matter... like what everyone else is pretty much saying.. swap .. I'm already getting "tired" of my lil k20a3

so is it 3.5" or 2.5" piping? cuz if it's 3.5" you're losing tons of low end power right there...

if you get the k20a3 (my engine) it's about 3G's plus install k20a2 (RSX-S) it's abount 4, k20a (TypeR) and k24 bout 6 and up ... these prices are approximate... dunno if they've changed much in the last year
