generic "ebay" front camber kits..thoughts?
 

Hi guys, I picked up a front camber kit from ebay. Its not the usuall ingalls/ SPC cam style kit, but a shim/washer kit that mounts in the same location on the upper control arm. Its all machined steel, So i figured it'd be solid, and has longer bolts that you add and subtract washers from. Does anyone have experience with this style of kit. Im not sure if I'm being clear, its been a long Monday.

also should i get camber kit with eibach 1.8 drop all around?

Sounds like you bought yourself a rear camber kit.

Ya by the sounds of it man, it sounds like you bought a rear camber kit, the front camber kits are the complete upper control arm with an adjustable ball joint

As for the 1.8" drop, you should be good with no camber kit...but its all personal decision, I have about a 2" drop and all i did is shimmed the rears

Hi guys, thanks for the reply's. Its actually the cam bolt style of kit. Similar to the progress kit. I guess theres a cam bolt that pivots when you rotate it. Should be okay. They replace the two blocks that connect the UCA to the body. Oh, and you'll be fine withou t acamber kit on a 1.8" drop. Ive got a 1.8" drop and Im buying the kit to increase my negative camber. i have h&r sports, 1.9/1.8" drop and i dont have much camber, just some ****ed up toe lol.

ok thanks, i dont see any camber on my tires, so i guess i dont need camber kit

you won't necessarily see camber wear on the tires since some shops set up your toe in a lil bit to accelerate the wear on the outside of the tire so that both outside and inside will wear out evenly, but more quickly than if you didn't have that problem.

only an alignment report will tell you if you need a kit or not sky0901.

as for the front camber kit... I dunno, there are many diff't style of kits, not just the adjustable upper control arms... my buddy had those ones you're talking about, but they were made by ingalls, and they squeaked a lot all the time. try it and see, I guess you can't lose really. but I looked at the progress unit, it seems to be a balljoint replacement rather than what you describe. why don't you take some pics?

Yeah I think they'll be okay, it looks like it just changes the location of the control arm furthur. Bbarbulo, I'll try and remember to post some pics when they get here. Ryan

yeah please do! also, remember, certain model years have diff't mounting points for the upper control arms, the 4th gens had the CTRL arm bolts pointing up, the 6th gens have them coming out the sides of the strut towers... so depending on the location, shims may or may not work. Dunno about the 5th Civic/3rd Integra gens.

I'm going to a sportline kit and we're doing an alignment after to see whas up.

since we're on the issue.. im looking for someone to install a camber kit on my car

I new to honda, and my volkswagen mechanic refuses to touch my car.. anyone know a good/cheap shop that works with aftermarket parts

I have a front ingall camber kit on my integra, its not a complete replacement control arm as is the skunk2 unit, hasnt made any noise for me in 2 years now. Oh well just spreading the propaganda.

ANYONE GOT THEIR OLD UPPER ARMS...
