General Consensus

Whats the general consensus on the Falken ZIEX ZE-512 tires? Worth the buy?

I need to change my Canadian Tire tires soon so Im wondering what are good tires to look for.

Came across the Falken at Tiretrends so wondering if they are good and worth it?

they're pretty good for the price. i bought them but won't be getting them anymore. i need something stickier and will just run snow tires during the winter. these tires are perfect for daily driving though, good in the wet when new but not so good once you wear them down.

yea i noticed that too falkens are not that sticky for some reason, when i corner on hi speed they tend to skid sometimes.

Xscorpio 13-Sep-2005 09:15 AM

oh and i am just talking about normal street driving.

cool. which size version tire did you purchase? I'm looking to get something in the 60 series to get good mileage out of them.

Edit: How is the tire condition holding up? Any peeling of the sidewall, weird issues?

what do you mean by skid? could it drift off the road? :eek:

Well I'm not racer so I think I shouldnt have these issues. Im just looking something better than Canadian Tire tires.

Anybody on TCC or its affiliates sell tires?

imported_SaYjAiBaO 13-Sep-2005 01:55 PM

my tires probably have like 30k on them. i did a lot of driving on these tires. they have been to two track days, blistered like crazy but side walls look mint still. i'm lowered 1.75 and my front inners are already bald but 30k on these tires aren't that bad. i'm on 195/50/15s, i should've went 205/50/15s.

cool thanks. whats the difference between 205 vs 195 size tires? How is this measured? Is it from one end to the other end?

I know the 60 in the sidewall readings means 6 inches height of the tire. Is the 205 the width of the tire?

ty

imported_SaYjAiBaO 13-Sep-2005 02:19 PM

that's the width of the tire. i thought 195 would be ok but it wasn't. why are you going 60 profile? that'll have more flexing in the tire wall. just go with 205/50/15s, you'll be happy.

zeeman 13-Sep-2005 02:19 PM

yes 205 is the width of the tire.

The biggest reason I want to go with the 60 series is because they have the 60, 000 mile treadware warranty. The 50's are only 30, 000KM warranty.

I dont want to spend more money on tires soon after. Im just 18 and dont have much cash, using my summer job money which is sparse.

So Im looking for better tires than what I have, crappy CT tires, that need replacing.

So Im thinking of these kinds...

195/60R/15 or 205/60R/15

which one do you think look nicer on the 93 Civic and drive better performance wise.

BTW: Im not into "looks" on my Civic so these tires dont need to be low-profile, just good quality tires that ride nice. Im being simple.

And thanks :cheers:

Thanks, is it the width in mm? or inches? I want to see if I can measure them. So it would be like 20 inches?

Edit: 20 inches? what was I thinking? :banghead:

Cynikal.Mindset 13-Sep-2005 03:05 PM

P205/50/15

P=passenger car
205=width in mm
50= height of sidewall in percentage of the width
15=diameter of the wheel needed

I've used them for street tires and I love the tire... it's perfect for the street
