the pin ending up to be D something.. We tried a6 and a5. Just incase somebody is doing the same install

i take it you were installing an air to fuel ratio guage?
My bad on the bunk info, another site here is saying that A5 is secondary o2 heater, not signal and the same with A6 its the primary o2 heater not signal.
The o2 signal wire is:
obd2a - D07 primary and D14 for the secondary
obd2b - C16 primary and A23 for the secondary
obd1 - D14 theres only 1 o2 on obd1 cars

When hooking up an a/f guage you attach the signal wire for the guage to the primary o2 sensor signal wire at the ecu.
