GE sleeved block
Dear Canadians:
Hello, how are you doing up there? Hey, Canada is bigger and you're always on top.....if this were jail then we'd be your bitch! I hope you get that. Well, I've scrapped the twin-charged idea and going turbo, so I bought a block: Golden Eagle sleeved b18c1, 83mm bore, with deck extension to make it a tall block. Okay, so here is my dilemma: What pistons, rods, crank can I go with? Keep in mind that I want the shortest stroke possible. This is what I think I might have to use: LS crank Eagle long rods 83mm Arias pistons LS bearings Does this sound right? Engine builders please respond. Thanks from across the border. use a B17 crack came int he 92 and 93 LS... I think that would give you the best rod to stroke ratio

Do you already have the block? If so what is the size of the deck plate?
Why do you want the "shortest stroke possible"? Are you looking to use stock shelf pieces? or custom rods? |

But with a 2:1 rod stroke ratio you could run decent boost AND rev to 9000RPM!!!!!!! wow.....that would definetly be a crazy combo. Sounds like it could end up to be a powerfull engine if you got the time and coin to build it. the short stroke will yield less power but the Reliability factor is MUCH better.

I figured out the setup: The deck height is like a Dart Tall Block at 8.9inches or 226mm. So, I'm going to use an LS crank, 95mm rod, and custom pistons. This will give me a 1.70 rod/stroke ratio, not far off the optimal 1.75 rod/stroke ratio recommended by many honda engine builders. by the way, i have a few parts to sell: ***first two items are brand new, never installed and in original packaging. inlinepro.com headgasket bulletproof to 500hp, requires adjustable cam gears lowers compression fits b-series vtec, 1.8+1.6 paid 280 usd asking 150 usd b18c1 ARP head studs 100usd autometer C2 cobalt series tachometer new condition cobalt shift light and face 200usd Thanks for all the replies. chris |

what formula are you using? I say the formula I'm using must be incorrect. stroke divided by rod equals rod/stroke rato. I must be doing something wrong. can you recommend a rod length with the LS crank? Thanks again. |
correction:
The rod that i was thinking of using is 5.967 inches or 151 mm. 5.967/3.504 crank=1.70 |
