GC/Koniyellows vs. Omnipower
Anybody have any first hand experience with both of these setups???
I've hear good/bad about both but it seems like the ground control and koni yellow setup is a legend with imports.. Also how much does the gc/koni setup cost approx. ? i know its more than the omni's |
What do you plan on doing with your car? Daily driver, Auto X, showcar, etc.
The Koni/GC combo would probably be more then the Omni. Depending on where you get the stuff from the Konis are about $700, the GC coilovers are about $400 and the Omni full coilovers are about $900. These are only approximate prices. Maybe you can get them for cheaper or you may pay way too much. The Koni/GC setup will not only be height adjustable, but also damping adjustable. The Omnis have no damping adjustment, only height. The GC coilovers can also be ordered with custom spring rates. The Omnis are 8/10 street and 10/12 race. |
go GC and koni if you have that much money its much more worth it :)

this car is my daily driver, i just want to drop it cause the appearance is so much sicker... plus the improved handling is also a big plus.
newb question but, what is dampening exactly? just how stiff or soft your springs are correct? and oh ya those prices hes ^^^ talking about are on honda-tech |
Omni's.. $649 Shipped
US prices. Exchange rate very good right now say its gonna cost like maybe around 750 cnd and plus when it gets here u still have to pay the duty tax thats about another 100 or so? so i guess it better of just getting it from jon from optionjdm...RITE? |
get the Omni Power! rides nice, and excellent handling. i got them from Option JDM.

alright, thanks for the input, i was 90% in my decision and now am 100%.
I've already talked to jon about the coilovers and its all good except for the fact he has no EKs in stock and is getting them next week or the week after???? |
I'll be moving to a Koni/Eibach setup some time... I currently have a Tokico Ground control setup.
However my new setup is going to be for racing only... Koni racing shocks... with Koni Sleeves and Eibach custom spring rates from their ERS line up... |

Originally posted by meSIR Jason, why are you going from GC to Eibach? |
Originally posted by Cee_mon Not 100% positive, but i think all GC springs are Eibach's. I think you can get cutom spring rates from Ground Control, too. |
YELLOWS is the only way 2 go unless u go tein
|
the GC use Eibach springs and I would go with koni yellows over omni power any day. Omni is a fairly new product and they have quite a bit of problems with their stuff.

If you are 'just lowering' your car and the handling is a 'bonus' then why not source out some quality used coilovers? No need to spend over a grand just to lower your car. However, if you are picky like I am, then it's best that you spend the cash now and have a long lasting product that offers good perfomance. Also, now that I have height adjustable coilovers, there's no way I'd go back to the typical spring/shock combo. |

Maybe I should rephrase what I said, the aestetics and the peformance are both important to me, but its not like I need amazing handling because I'm not autocrossing or anything on these or else I'd be grabbing buddyclub susp. or something.. The thing is I have the cash, so I'd like to get them new, keep them in good condition and see how long they last. Plus people either love or hate omni's so I'd like to know for myself... |
