Gasoline - Cleanliness.

Everyone has a different opinion on this and claims that remain unsubstantiated.

Some say that Shell has the cleanest fuel out there - due in part to working with Ferrari to achieve this.

Some say Sunoco has the dirtiest fuel, simply because of lead derivatives in its fuel.

Some say that Petro Canada additives can have a negative impact.

Thoughts?

kwikb16a2 04-Apr-2006 12:55 PM

why has honda have a class action lawsuit against shell for there crappy fuel?

civ9202 04-Apr-2006 12:59 PM

shell has the dirtiest fuel? ive been goin the wrong way then lol but i like to collect my CAA points lol

imported_t_dot_SiR 04-Apr-2006 06:37 PM

its actually really hard to say... shell deals with ferrari fuels doesn't mean they would provide the same for us haha... they might be specially refined to run in ferraris??? =) who knows

civ9202 05-Apr-2006 12:25 PM

im surprised noone has really commented on this thread...has the TCC community been stumped??!?!?!?

Cynikal.Mindset 05-Apr-2006 02:04 PM

i put whatever is closest in, I dont care...gas is gas

SugaDaddy 05-Apr-2006 02:05 PM

im running petro canada most of the time in my car, i personally don't like pioneer or shell.

imported_Moe_Mentum 05-Apr-2006 02:19 PM

I really don't see much difference I mentally think Shell V-Power and Sunoco gas runs great. Heck even CT gas is fine.... I have only ever had problems with Petro Canada

imported_SaYjAiBaO 05-Apr-2006 04:44 PM

i like esso because when i put in 91 my points double and i can use those useful points for car washes in the winter time :).

you mean you're using a special credit card or just the esso card?
i use octane 91 now, so when i pump, my points are double? like 30 bux is 60 points?

imported_SaYjAiBaO 05-Apr-2006 08:50 PM

yeah i'm using the esso card. so 30 bucks would be 60 points.

I go to Petro. I only go to other ones when I do not have a choice. But I always avoid the TruValu stations and the like.
I will say this though, I prefer the pumps at shell and sunoco. I have a feeling that the pumps at petro are rigged. Every time I pump the meter will start counting but the gas will take about 3 seconds to actually start flowing, and then like an additional 2 seconds to flow at full speed, whereas the other gas stations are instant. Maybe its just me.

At least its not like in my home country where some crooked gas station owners dilute the gas with water.

i go to shell because i can collect airmiles period. sometimes i go to other gas stations when im empty

naww dont worry about them being rigged, they have companies that come and calibrate there meters every so often and they are aproved

So in other words no one knows and they just head for the bright logo that appeals to them best or that has the best rewards program? :p

Man, the marketing people at gas companies really have us going.

imported_2000Civic 13-Apr-2006 02:05 PM

Pretty much, use sunoco for CAA, so membership is reduced.

Same, or whatever is cheapest (whithin viewing distance).....If there is a PetroScam i'll go there because I collect the points, even tho there is nothing worth buying (I have like 10k or something)

Flame02 15-Apr-2006 12:52 PM

Persoanlly I like Petro or Sunoco ... Ive read somewhere that Sunoco has the cleanest gas (possibly due to the 10% ethanol mixture?)

imported_eth0r 16-Apr-2006 06:25 PM

yep.. petro and sunoco only, i heard esso has the dirtiest gas
