Gas Mileage on 92-95 CX

I've heard some rediculous claims of 900+km per tank...is this a fact or fiction...like and one guy said he had ZC and was gettin 1000km/tank

thats like double my mileage...I call bluff

nate11racing 09-Oct-2004 09:40 PM

Hey, I think whoever told you that is full of IT. I only get 600 to 650 and that's almost all highway and babying it.

imported_Airbusegsihb 09-Oct-2004 09:55 PM

When I had a 95 cx hatch the mileage was about 500 to 550km per tank depending on how you drove. Most of mine was on the Qew/427 between Winston Churchill and Pearson airport.

punkindrublic 09-Oct-2004 11:38 PM

i used to get 600+ on my Si when i didn't 95% highway driving...

i agree with your bluff... unless this guy installed a big ass second fuel tank or something weird

Cynikal.Mindset 09-Oct-2004 11:51 PM

thats what I'm saying...like they are claiming TDi numbers...like, c'mon 1000km/tank with a ZC (5th gen hatch) is ludicris!...and its not just 1 person, its 2...1 guy I work with says he gets like 800 while doing pizza deliveries and over 800 highway driving and then his friend says he gets 1000/tank highway

imported_t_dot_SiR 10-Oct-2004 12:40 AM

cynikal.mindset, you're freaking me out... your avatar blinks, right??? i see your eyes blinking for some reason... hahahaha and its 12:40am.....

and no doubt that guy is bluffing about 800+ km/tank... other than the TDi... i think 600 is almost by far the most ideal mileage per tank.......

bdotdan 10-Oct-2004 03:22 AM

i got 720 on one tank once, all highway

imported_kIeRaN 10-Oct-2004 01:01 PM

yeah, id say hes making that up, i used to only be able to get around 450-500 km with no highway driving

shlammed 10-Oct-2004 02:25 PM

YEAH...ZC's get better mileage then TDI's!!!!!!!!

***looks around***

stock94block 11-Oct-2004 12:49 PM

not sure how the gas mileage would be on a CX, but depending on how i drive my 5th gen DX i get anywhere from 600-750 a tank...driving really really hard, 450 lol

imported_fine2ne 11-Oct-2004 12:57 PM

bull s hit

i've never gotten more than 500-550. So i don't believe that at all. maybe if the guy is driving around the city doing 60km/h in 5th. Or some sh it. But i don't think it's possible to get 1000 out of it even 800. civic tank is about 40 L 1000/40 = 25 km/l so that's like 4L/ 100 km. The new smart car is 3.9 L/100km city. So i say the guy if so full of sh it it is coming out of his mouth.

nashall 15-Oct-2004 12:26 AM

usally i get about 475-500 normally....but i did once get 638km driving at 120 kmh and that was pushing it....i was quite impressed

bbarbulo 15-Oct-2004 09:35 AM

from a former 2000 TDI owner... TDI's actually SUCK for gas mileage. I mean, they're good compared to like a Crown Vic but compared to an Echo or VX/HX Civic they are ****. Only reason it SEEMS like good mileage, is cuz the ****ing tank is 55 or 60 liters. If my Civic had a 60 liter tank I'm sure I'd get 1000 kms to a tank as well.

I've gotten near 800 kms on one tankin my Civic, but then I got scared to run outta gas so I filled up :) I was driving to Ottawa, lowered on STOCK tires (to save camber wear). haha

shlammed 15-Oct-2004 12:55 PM

If I did 110km/hr all highway non-stop in my old EF I'd guarantee 700km+ mileage because I got over 600km mix driving anyways. So far in my 98dx I got 550km/tank.

imported_gatherer 15-Oct-2004 01:19 PM

I usuually get 600 km/tank when I'm driving calmly and doing alot of highway driving...

since it's mostly stop and go for me now I get 400 to a tank .. not complaining since when I worked it out it came out to around 40 mpg which is nice...

didn't the Si hatchback have a larger gas tank? if you replaced your tank with one of those your kms/tank would rise in relation to the extra gas you could carry around with you....

imported_JookSingKid 15-Oct-2004 01:48 PM

92-95 Si have 45L tanks

imported_gatherer 15-Oct-2004 01:50 PM

thats bigger then my 30 or 35 liter tank I have

imported_BWK 16-Oct-2004 12:47 PM

i get the most 350-400km highway driving on my 92 si with b18b and sir tranny so 1000km os BS
