gas light

hey guys

this strange thing happens just 3 days ago after i drove into london from toronto.. well, i had my tank fill to the top before i start my trip to london since the gas was cheap that day... however, after i get to london and begin my local driving... my gas light keeps lighting up whenver my rev is below 2000-2200 for gear 2,3,4,5... and if my rev is below 3000 for gear 1... the gas tank empty light would light-up.... once i get past those revs... the light is not on.... whenever i clutch my car during a red light... the gas tank light is on... but if i neutral my car and not clutch it... the gas tank light is by random on or off... but one thing for sure is, if it doesn't rev over 2200 while i'm driving, the gas tank light would light-up...

what could be the problem?

thanks...
walter

does the gas gauge go up and down with the light? or is the gas gauge steady while the light is blinking on and off??

it is steady....
and i've been going 150-160 on the highway from toronto to london... surprisingly... the needle only dropped 1/5 of the tank... then i know its probably the sensor... so in london... i rest the car, then when i start it again... and i waited... the needle indicates only 1/4 of the tank was used... how is that possible for 200km of driving... i have a d16z6 motor...

anyways... i'm still clueless why it does blink the gas light when i'm under 2200 rpm.... i'll go into my mech today as well if he has time...

yeah it could very well be the sensor, i don't think it's anything that's a 'quick fix' so to speak

Why don't they put them in writing? GAS and OIL are only 3 letter words. However, then they would have to make other ones for different coutries that don't speaka di englisha
