OMG my bro took my car out today and put in Regular gas :banghead: (and A FULL TANK at that) not the 91 I always but in.What will happen to my engine now? it feels slow but hey that could be me SMOKE :smoker: to much.. someone help me out

i have 98 JDM GSR someone tell me if i have a problem on my hands :shrugs:

punkindrublic 25-May-2005 08:25 PM

add some octane booster?

imported_D dot T 25-May-2005 09:27 PM

Nothing should happen to your engine. It just won't have the bit of performance you are use to. You can add some octane booster to it and that should help. Pretty much just fill up on the usual gas next time around.

in cases like these cars have been known to explode...so i think ur best bet is to sell it to me for 500 bux and get it off ur hands!

imported_Italia311 25-May-2005 11:23 PM

i'll give you 550

imported_kIeRaN 26-May-2005 12:56 AM

600 over here

imported_t_dot_SiR 26-May-2005 03:51 AM

700 man... haha jk dude

just add some octane booster if you feel like to...

otherwise, just put back 91 next tank... or if u wish... do some oil change and flushing haha... just to make your heart feel better...

ELGUY 26-May-2005 08:21 AM

Nothing will happen, you guys are mean. You will notice on the Big twin cam VTEC's, that they dont run as welll with reg. But your engine is fine. Octane boost will give you your power back for this tank, but it wont hurt anything if you dont.

Gunmetalef 26-May-2005 08:24 AM

it might knock

imported_GoldBadge 26-May-2005 08:35 AM

You may notice some pre-ignition with the lower octane gas. This would only happen if your engine's compression ratio was high enough, though. I have no clue what a JDM GSR's compression ratio is and what the recommended grade of fule is for it.

C. R. = 10.6:1; recommended fuel = premium.

imported_Cablerat 26-May-2005 10:54 AM

Just drive your car around easy until you fill up. Don't go hitting redline or anything.

Your engine is equipped with a knock sensor which will retard the ignition if it detects knocking. (That is if knock is hooked up)......

Either way, you'll be fine, just don't push the car.

imported_viper_2_4 26-May-2005 04:51 PM

800 over here...lol..

don't worry about it should be fine...

Dr.K 26-May-2005 07:13 PM

Just dont' rev it out. Take it easy and dump some octane boost in. You have a knock sensor so you dont' have to worry too much.

imported_4drEx 26-May-2005 07:30 PM

thanks for the info... i will just wait it out i guess, thank you all

here some BUB on me:smoker: LOL
