Gapping Spark Plugs

Well - was bored this afternoon so I decided to pull my plugs and have a look at them. They are getting a little dark but not too bad. I decided to check the gap and they seemed a little tight.

Well after regapping the car runs noticable smoother now - a nice suprise I must say.

Yeah I read that in the shop manual, wasn't sure why, guess platinum is a harder metal and doesn't take well to bending. Yikes then it might break off and bounce around in the cylinder!

What size did you gap them to?
I did .44 on mine

D16Y7 engine, with BOSCH Platinum 2 spark plugs.

Not that it's a big deal but I think spec is 0.043 in (1.1 mm) D16Y7 and 8

B16 0.051 in, 1.3mm (Found it in the Honda shop manual)

Anyone know if 1 mm makes THAT much of a difference.
