Full Auto To Manual Conversion

Guys listen i have a super amazing deal on this whole auto to manual gear swap.

It will be comming of straight from a 2000 Honda Civic EX and will go perfectly right into the Civic i have rite now.

But the thing is that i dont know wat are ALLL the parts i need to do this conversion so can someone name them all. Every single piece of **** there is for a PERFECT SWAP.

as for price it will be FREE for me. so can someone tell me the required items needed??
Also should i use the Manual ECU that will come off that 2k civic or should i use the current one and reprogram it? Since both vehicles are the same and the only difference being that its a stick and mine is an auto. Also should i take the engine at the same time too? Or can i keep the current engine that i have rite now???

I KNOW JUGGLEZ DID THIS SO CAN JUGGLEZ TELL ME EVERYTHING NEEDED OR SUMONE HERE. plz.

Well.. that'll all depend on what car and engine you have at the moment.

both are the exact same cars

2000 Honda Civic EX's only difference between them is that one is manual and mine is automatic.
So everyhting is going to be straight plug and play so can someone tell me the parts that is involved and i mean EVERYSINGLE PIECE OF CRAP in it.

well since you asked so nicely

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

here's what you need:

Transmission (obviously this will include things like the flywheel, clutch disc, pressure plate and all necessary hardware, bearings etc etc...and tranny fluid of course, use genuine Honda MTL)

manual ECU - your stock auto ecu will work with modification to the resistors, but don't bother, just get the manual ecu.. plug and play is good.

clutch reservoir (you'll need to pour some fluid in it as well, use genuine Honda brake fluid)
clutch master cylinder and mounting hardware (both inside and out)
slave cylinder and bleeder screw, and everything else stuck to it
hydro clutch lines.. one very long one to connect the master cylinder to the slave cylinder... and one or two short ones to connect the reservoir to the master cylinder.

complete pedal assembly, all 3 pedals across (brake, gas, and clutch)... the auto brake pedal is way too big and too close to the gas pedal..

shift linkage and shifter (you might as well pick up some energy suspension shifter bushings and have these installed at the same time... dirt cheap and a good improvement over stock... and if you're one of those people who thinks a short shifter makes them faster go ahead and get one, now is the best time to do it)

intermediate shaft/axle/stick thingy/ whatever you wanna call it... you might as well swap both of the axles if they are in better condition than the ones you have now... or better yet just buy new axles since you are getting everything else free.

shift boot.. this should fit around your stock center console fine, unlike the 5th gens where the opening is way tooo large to fit the boot perfectly

shift **** ... the stock one is plain, get a shiny one...

and no you don't need the motor or any part of the longblock... save your money.. buy me something.. my birthday is coming up real soon.

3 things to look out for

1) tranny mount - you might need the one off the donor car.. i'm not sure... take it just in case...

2) make sure the installer knows how to fiddle with the auto related wiring clips/slider underneath the center console... you will have to lock it in the "P" park postion and have it there at all times otherwise you will not be able to take out your key!

3) reverse lights - this is tricky... i know how to do it on a 5th gen and it should be the same for a 6th gen but i'm not postivie on that.. it involves running 2 wires form the reverse sensor on the tranny to a wire clip under your console... but anyways, if you feel you wnat this part done lemme know, that is a totally seperate post...

lastly, i know of several 6th gens who have done a manual conversion... all run fine, and all perform like stock. You shouldn't have any problems if done right...

*beep beep* the brake pedal is too close to the clutch, not the gas pedal

and since you seem to be getting everything for free, you might as well swap out the gauge cluster from that car so you don't have to put up with the

P
R
N
D2
D1

or however it goes now
