FUEL SAVING and RPM
#25
yeah it's all about shifting low and keeping the rpms down... getting up to that 6th gear as fast as possible and just cruising without going over 3k rpms... if i'm in a chill mood and not in a hurry (99% of the time)
that being said occasionally you gotta let loose and live a little... red lining from time to time in first and second is what you bought your car with vtec for... nothing like feeling / hearing the vtec kick in... and watch your rpm gauge fly up before you shift quick nice and high into the next gear..

wow looks like i'm not the only one with fuel 'issues'... mine seems to burn crazy amounts of fuel when at idle and warming up (running)... i do have a chip from a good local tuner, who mapped it for good stoich and blend with power, and timing... i just got about 420km on his chip, but was hoping for more... maybe i'm being too unreasonable....
just have to keep reminding myself... the more efficient the flow of air through the engine... the more gas you will use... and the more power you make ... what i also want is a cleaner burn
either way... i have a PLX r-300 to install, then i can get to the bottom of how 'MY' engine runs...
