Fuel Pump Primed, Then CLICK? ... car wont start?

Had this problem on Sunday Night. Just finished filling up on some good ol;94octane. Got back in my car let the fuel pump prime pressed the clutch down turned the ignition. POP. No power to the car car didnt turn just made a pop! Nothing worked in the car nothing electrical.. nothing.

Popped the hood made sure there were no loose connections on the newly installed HIDs everything seemed fine. So i turned my attention to the battery discconnected the negative terminal and tapped it agains the terminal on the battery to see if i could obtain a spark to determine if the battery was ok. No spark i reconnected the battery and all of a suden i hear my stero come on.. so i turn the stero off re prime the pump start her up and she purrs again like a kitten. Car ran fine.

I didnt drive the car on monday and today when i went to start it it did the same thing twice! So i checked the positive terminal fastened that down a bit tigheter and she worked right after. Not sure if its a starter prob. Actually im not sure wtf it is lol.. suggestions ideas anyone?

try this, next time when it clicks, tap the starter with BFH. If it starts, then your solenoid sticking. = new starter

I reccomend cleanign up your battery posts and terminals then clampign them down tight. If each time you just unhook it chances are it is an issue with the conection.

I could never figure out why hitting the starter was a temp solution for getting it going a few more times. Now I know
