Fuel Management on an obd2...

I've been looking into turbo set-ups recently and I had a question I wanted to ask. From what I understand, if I have an obd2 engine, my only options in terms of a fuel managemt system are: 1)an FMU if I intend to stick with my obd2 or 2) pick up an obd1 ecu and conversion harness so that I'd be able to use a hondata unit or uberdata and other similar programs. Right or wrong???

BTW just incase it matters I'm planning to use a t3 turbo along with the rest of the components of a full kit, upgraded fuel pump and never exceed 7psi all on a stock d16.

TIA for any help
flame on if need be

go obd1 and run crome/uberdata or you could pay $$$ for hondata.
You can stay obd2 and run a standalone system but they're 3 times as much as the hondata costs.
But i would honestly just grab a conversion harness and chipped obd1 ecu and get it chipped/tuned with crome.

^^excatly.

And instead of saying "ill never pass 7psi" you should say a whp range.. 7psi can vary on different set-ups and tunes. You should say "ill never pass 200whp" or however much power you want to be at.

well then in that case i'd say I never intend to go above 170-180 whp

So if I decide to run either Crome or uberdata, what does the process involve? Going to a tuner and getting my ecu chipped? is that it?
I read somewhere that tuners generally charge in the $150/hr area so would that be the case here or would there be other charges involved?
thanks for the responses zeeman and chris

in order to run uberdata/crome you would need to chip your ecu and have a .bin file (ROM.....program) made in uberdata or crome.
$150/hr is what it usually costs just for dyno/wideband o2 time ($75 for the dyno and $75 for the use of the wideband o2...can't tune without a wideband).
So if you can get tuning done for $150/hr do it up. But when i went to the dyno it was $150/hr just for the use of the dyno/wideband...that didn't include tuning.

i'd be more concerned about the newly added turbo than the fact that you're running obd1.
Who's going to know that you've converted to obd1?

i think he meant the issue with using 1 o2 oppose to 2 sensors.

I'm not too sure how it will turn out.. I know a few guys with obd1 ecu's have passed. But with a turbo kit on.. good luck passing. It can be done, but isn't all that easy. Most guys just take the kit off when they go.
